Privacy, in focus.

1. Information used in the app

Frame processes and stores the following information on your device to provide photography challenges, feedback, and your journal:

• Photographs you select. Frame uses Apple’s system photo picker. It receives the photographs you choose, without requesting access to your entire library.
• Camera information. When present, camera make and model, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO are retained for display with a journal entry. Frame does not request your device’s location and does not copy GPS metadata into the imported journal image. The visible content of a photograph may still reveal a location or other personal information.
• Journal information. Saved entries include an image copy, the challenge, save date, a photo description, available camera information, and any feedback you choose to save. Practice counts are calculated from these entries.
• Preferences. Photography interests, experience, equipment, challenge difficulty, appearance, and onboarding completion are saved locally to personalize the app.

Journal images are resized to a maximum of 2,400 pixels on their longest side. Importing or deleting a journal entry does not alter the original photograph in Photos.

2. On-device photo feedback

When you choose to analyze a photograph on a supported device, Frame provides the selected image and challenge context to Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework. Frame does not upload this content to a server or use a cloud fallback for analysis. The developer does not receive the photograph, analysis input, or generated feedback.

You can save a photograph without analysis. If you do not want a photograph analyzed, do not select Analyze Photo. The included sample uses labeled, prewritten example feedback. AI-generated feedback can make mistakes.

3. Collection, tracking, and sharing

Frame does not operate a service that collects your app content. The app has no advertising, third-party analytics SDKs, tracking identifiers, public profiles, or developer-operated cloud sync. The developer does not sell or use your app content for advertising or model training.

Apple may separately handle App Store, operating-system, diagnostic, and backup information according to your settings and Apple’s privacy policy. These platform services are distinct from Frame’s on-device photo processing.

4. Exports you choose to share

Export Photo and Feedback creates a JPEG copy and a text file containing the challenge, save date, available camera information, and saved feedback. The iOS share sheet lets you choose where these files go. Temporary export files are removed after the share sheet finishes.

If you save or send an export to another app, person, or service, that destination controls its copy under its own practices. Deleting the journal entry does not delete exported copies.

5. Retention, deletion, and your choices

Journal entries and preferences remain in the app’s local storage until you remove them or delete the app. There is no automatic expiration period for saved journal entries.

• Delete an entry: open it in Journal, choose Entry Actions, then Delete Entry and confirm. This removes the journal record and its app-managed image copy, without deleting the original in Photos.
• Change preferences: use Settings in Frame.
• Stop importing or analyzing: cancel the photo picker, choose no additional photographs, or save without analysis. To remove previously saved content, delete its journal entries.
• Remove all local app data: use iOS’s Delete App option. Offloading an app retains its documents and data, so offloading alone does not erase your journal.

Depending on your settings, iCloud or computer backups may contain app data. Frame does not provide its own cloud backup service. Deleting a local entry or the app does not necessarily remove an existing backup or an exported copy. Manage these separately using Apple’s backup settings and the destinations you chose for exports. The developer cannot access, recover, or remotely delete your local journal. There is no Frame account to close and no developer-held copy of your journal to request deletion of.

6. Visiting this website

This website is hosted with Cloudflare Pages. Serving and securing a page involves processing technical request information, which can include your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time. Cloudflare handles that information under its service terms and privacy policy.

The website’s own code does not set cookies, use browser storage, include advertising or analytics scripts, or collect form submissions. Visiting this website does not give it access to your Frame journal or photo library. Hosting-related request information is separate from the data stored locally by the iPhone app.

7. Children’s privacy

Frame does not require anyone, including children, to provide personal information to the developer to use the app. The same on-device processing and local-storage practices apply to all users. Parents and guardians can manage the device, app data, backups, and sharing using iOS controls.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated if Frame’s data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Any new data access requiring permission will be requested before it is used.

If you email this address, your email address and anything you include in your message are processed to respond to you and handle your request. Correspondence is held in the developer’s email account for as long as needed to address the request and meet any applicable legal obligations. You can use the same address to request deletion of that correspondence, subject to those obligations.

Please do not send photographs or other sensitive information unless needed for your question. Sending an email does not give the developer access to your device or local journal.
